AutoPal strives to make the software easy to use, and configurable to your needs! One way this is achieved is through the use of default settings. The “User Defaults” are of particular importance, as they help determine the default customer communication settings for your borrowers.
For an overview of the Defaults tab, please review the following article: Defaults – Overview.
To access the “User Defaults” select Settings > Defaults > User Defaults. Once selected you will be redirected to the following page:
There are two primary sections of the User Defaults: the “New User Defaults”, and the “User Status Defaults”. Through these sections you will be able to default the level of access of newly created borrowers, and set which Loan Statuses should receive emails, SMS messages, and retain web access.
New User Defaults
AutoPal gives you the ability to set default settings for newly created Borrower Users. To edit the new user defaults select the Edit User Defaults icon. Once selected, you will be redirected to the following page:
Here you will be able to set defaults for newly created borrower users and set which level of access the clients should have. From this page, you can set the following defaults:
- User Web Access: This option allows you to restrict whether or not a customer will have access to the end-user website upon creation. Select “Yes” to enable a client’s access, and “No” to disable their access.
- User Email Enrollment: Use this setting to set whether or not clients will be enrolled for email upon creation. Select “Yes” to enable clients to receive emails, and “No” to disable this setting for newly created clients.
- Country: Use this setting to set the default country for newly created Borrower Users. Options include “United States”, and “Canada”.
- SMS Enrollment: Select whether or not newly created borrowers will be enabled to receive SMS messages upon creation. Please note that you must be enrolled for the SMS module within AutoPal, as well as have an active Solutions By Text account.
Once the defaults have been set, select the Save Changes icon to facilitate your changes.
User Status Defaults
AutoPal also gives you the ability to set a clients enrollment for customer communication based on the status of the loan. This ensures that loans only receive the levels of communication appropriate to their current status.
You will notice this section is broken into the following Loan Status categories: Underwriting, Active, Paid Off, Repossessed, and Collection Account. Within each Loan Status are several sub-status options.
You will notice a series of ON / OFF toggle switches to the right of each sub-status option. These toggles switches give you the ability to enable Email, Web Access, and SMS Enrollment, based on the status of the loan. As a generality, the “Active” status options should be left on, while the other options are determined on a per company basis. Please take the appropriate steps with these settings to ensure that only the appropriate loans receive emails!
