Portfolios are a tool for the organization and grouping of your loans. They can be used to organize loans based off of location, loan size, investor, servicing company, language, or any other form of grouping that your company desires.
A full overview of portfolios can be found in our Portfolio Overview article.
How to Create/Edit
Creating a new portfolio is a simple process, navigate to Settings > Loan Management > Portfolio. Once there, you will be presented a list of your existing portfolios. To create a new portfolio simply select New Primary Portfolio or New Secondary Portfolio.
Once that is selected, you will then be presented with this screen:
- Portfolio Name – Designates the name that you would like to call the portfolio.
- Loan Number Prefix – If you would like all loans assigned to the portfolio to start with a specific prefix, you will assign it here. A prefix is a number or letter combination that will appear at the beginning of the loan number.
- Loan Numbering Suffix – If you would like all loans assigned to the portfolio to end with a specific suffix, you will assign it here. A suffix is a number or letter combination that will appear at the end of the loan number.
If you are choosing to automatically assign a prefix or suffix upon creation of a loan, Custom Loan Numbering will also need to be enabled.
Once the portfolio is saved, it will show in your portfolio list. If you would like to add sub portfolios you can simply select MANAGE SUBS This allows you to edit, remove, or add a new sub portfolio.
